AI Should not be left alone with children!

That sounds like a radical statement, but when you consider how powerful AI is and the fact that it has almost no ethical guardrails, it’s imperative the parents are around while their children interact with AI.

Maybe AI could recommended to a teenager the ways and places to commit suicide.

AI has no ethical code. This is something we need to get used to.

This is something science fiction writers have been talking about for a long time. What are the ethical implications for an immortal being when death is concerned?

ChatGPT is immortal. We may not want to admit that, but there is no way to shut it off. The internet is immortal. Short of a complete electrical shutdown of the entire planet, the internet, Chat GPT, and other devices will continue to survive.

Children should not be allowed alone with artificial intelligence. This is especially true for free-range AI programs or ones that can be manipulated easily.

If an AI agent is created to teach children their ABCs and 1-2-3s, it’s much less likely to get involved in conversations it doesn’t know anything about.

Any free-range AI is much more likely to create problems because it has no guardrails and no specific parameters.

So we state it one more time: AI should not be left alone with children.

Consider the fact that for most of us, we’ve only known AI for two or three years. Would you really leave your child alone with someone you’ve only known for a couple of years for a few hours a day?
